Short Gif Animation of the Linear Comet (Linear C/1999 S4). The animation was taken over a 30 minute period on 7/2/00 at about 2:00am CDST (2H 40' 35" RA, 44 deg 42' 54" Dec). The comet was traveling towards the sun at a rate of approx. 4'/hour. You can determine that the sun is located to the left of the comet by looking at the direction of the comets tail.
